Whitefish Mountain Resort Opening!!

Whitefish Mountain Resort has been open the past 6 days and with intermittent snow and a couple days of blue, once again, our beloved hometown ski hill has delivered!!

The cordurouy is hecka-banging!!

There's suprisingly good coverage in the trees, especially on the backside. It's shaping up to be a great season here in Whitefish!!

Method tree-tap. The sender of the season for me so far. With a pretty solid and base and more snow on the way, WMR should be opening more runs down the frontside within the very near future.

POW

Most people know that A-Rob has an addiction with powder. Although his seems to be more of a serious problem than most. More serious than mine at least. If there's one thing that gets this guy excited, it's riding pow at Alpental. Last year in the end of February we had one of those days which we will never forget. Mother nature had treated Alpental with something close to 5 feet of new snow. At some point during this magical day, they had recorded it snowing 1.5" per hour.

We anxiously await this day to come again this winter. :-)

Gracias

Hola, and thank you for choosing Tablas Apretadas as another one of your inlets/outlets for the snowboarding world. As winter approaches, the excitement grows extremely high for those first turns......especially pow turns.

This season IS going to be as snowy as ever, and I plan on traveling to all the steep, snow-laden locations to get some!! So stay tuned with Tablas Apretadas throughout the winter for updates on my winter and the winter of my friends and fellow tight-boarders.

Peace,
A Rob

Fall is here

With semi-major snowfalls being reported throughout the rockies, winter again shows it's smiling face. This has many and most boarders very psyched for the upcoming season. New gear is on the shelves at local shops, ski hills and avalanche advisory sites are warming up their websites and a few CO resorts actually open next week!!

Bridger Bowl, MT.....yesterday!!

While opening day at your hill may seem a ways away, it definitely creeps up on you, so make sure you're fully prepared, with a new K2 setup (http://www.k2snowboarding.com/) fresh volcom outerwear (http://www.volcom.com/) and all your Airblaster accessories (http://www.myairblaster.com/) from your local shop and of course a ski pass to your local resort.

My favorite snowboard

Out of all things needing preparation for winter, your body is definitely the most important. I strongly advise you to get into a daily or by-daily "fitness" routine to ensure that you can survive the entire first day of riding, and the entire winter following.

I suggest above all else, a routine revolving around meditative stretching (yoga). Start slow and work your way towards daily, yoga practice. Easier said than done, I know. Try starting (or continue practicing) with this easy routine at http://www.yogainstructiontherapy.com/basic-yoga/a-simple-yoga-routine/
Peace
A Rob
